A friend of mine came upon George sitting on a bench being baited by a bunch of toe rags. She didnt know who he was but chased the yobs away and took George home. He told her that he used to be a footballer and loaned his scrapbook to her as herson is interested in football. She let me have a look before retuning to George. What memories it brought back! If there was anyone around now that had Geordies skill they would walk into any Premier League side.

Good match today. Spoilt by the ref for sending Kaz off. The same challenge on an Elgin player brought only a yellow. So go figure that one out!

Elgin pretty much had the better of the first 30 mins, but Berwick came back and we were lucky to hold level by the break. Even in the second half until the send off. Berwick played well. Following Scully's post on another thread, I've went into the Stenny website, and looked at how they made the transition to a CIC club. For those interested, it really is worth a look and it would be good to hear your thoughts. The article hits the bullet points, and it's simply put.

For it to work, it really needs everyone to work together, for the good of the club, and for everyone to buy into the concept. It is certainly an excellent option for a club like Elgin City,...

Gaz on another thread makes a very telling point: Elgin City is unable to gather the 40 or so fans necessary to justify hiring a bus for a 3rd Round Scottish Cup Tie that we just might win. Has there ever been a season in modern times when such a situation prevailed? Of course, some people will make their own way, but it's a long way and Coatbridge isn't all that convenient. What I'm getting round to saying that this is a very clear index of where Elgin City is at the moment....
