With us having so many defenders and so little midfielders, hopefully Nicolson will finally get his chance in centre midfield. We do really need to replace O'Donoghue now, we might need to spend a bit of money to get a player in of similar quality.

The signing of Craig Frizzell was reported on a Moray Firth Radio sport report on Tuesday or Wednesday this week, but since I had seen nothing further either on this site or in the P and J I thought it was some kind of wind-up. Not now its not. The pool of players is certainly taking shape although I would still like to see a couple of grafting midfielders. We havent yet replaced Ross O'Donoghue

Aye, there was also talk of three boys that we had on trial, don't have a copy near me so I can't mention any names, but Ross Jack seems to be making all the right moves.

Ah of course. I miss getting a Northern Scot on a Thursday night, these days I need to wait until late afternoon on Friday for them to finally update their website.

Anyway, pleased with these two signings. The squad is shaping up nicely.

I see we've signed a keeper on loan from Dundee, John Gibson, for the season, and he joins Craig Frizzel who returns to us.

I saw that Peterhead had released Michal Kula. Now, I remember him getting some rave reviews early last season, but I lost track of how he got on after that. If he's available, it would do no harm in getting him in, and fix up a bounce game, to have a look at him.

I heard Ian Sangster could be making a come-back----dont say you have'nt heard of him----he played for the elgin central engineers in 19 oatcake.

I must say that ridgers was the worst keeper I have seen, he turned into a shadow when the ball came near him.
We need a keeper like Renton or Malin at the club to help put us up a few places in the league.

Has there been any rumours going about concerning possible keepers for Elgin? In all honesty its probably the hardest position to fill....

If correct, that is crazy amount of money for someone who hasn't proved himself at any level he's played at. Including his signing on fee, he'd make £22,000 in the next year for being a part time footballer, madness.

Obviously won't be as much as that, but it makes you wonder how much Sid, Cammy and Ridgers must be on at Nairn.

I heard from a (fairly) reliable source that Nairn had offered Bagshaw a £10k signing on fee, on top of £1k a month.

Bagshaw would be an interesting signing. Was once supposed to be the next big thing at Aberdeen, but ended up at Peterhead and only made 4 starts for them last season, I wonder what's happened? There's a few clubs in the HFL after him, so if we are after him there will be a bit of competition.

with the signings so far and possibly Zander coming back all we need is a decent goalie and we cld be a good chance of the play offs ,makes a nice change lookin fwd to a season starting

Is there any signing news of any new players or current players re-signing in today's Northern Scot? The website only have a story about the trust on it.
