I heard a rumour elsewhere about this. Personally I like BI and think he has been let down by the players this season but our appalling league record has made him vulnerable. I'd stick with him until after the Vale match but if he has been sacked then I guess it will be Shearer or Stewart on the shortlist.
Nice to be back on the mboard, new job has meant restricted net access! |

Yep, he will be going in two weeks time, this I believe is by mutual agreement, he has agreed to leave before the cup game.

It's true, it's all on the website now in his final blog. I think there has been a combination of things, getting off to the worst possible start in the league/losing Adam Nelson/players under-performing/tactics not working etc. Brian as a person has helped this website immensely by writing his blog and keeping me informed. I can't thank him enough for what he's done for us. Good luck to him in whatever he pursues after the next couple of weeks.

Really don't know what to say.....
Firstly my thougths are with Brian and his family. Not nice to be out of work, especially at this time of the year. However, I'm sure Brian won't be out of work for too long as he's a talented coach. Good luck Brian in whatever path you choose to follow next. |

Well done and thanks to big Brian for all his effort in the last year.
Think Elgin will find it hard to find someone with as much experience, knowledge and standing in the game as Brian Irvine. |

Hear hear. Best wishes to Brian and his family. I hope he finds somewhere else soon. A very decent man. Sorry to see him go.

We will all have our own different opinions as to this news, but i thought BI was an honest man who tried and gave 100%. Like others I hope it wont be too long before he's back in employment, passing on his knowledge and experience.

I agree that he was a decent guy and that he gave 100%. The problem was that he wasn't a manager. Coaching kids and getting the club involved in the community is more his forte. I hope he finds a suitable opportunity as soon as possible.

Not happy that he's gone. Thought as a manager he did an ok job with what he's been given to paly with. Seemed to have some tactical nous about him as what's been evident with our second half performances. Best of luck in the future except if you come up against Elgin.
Now let's look to the future. Things HAVE to change. One training camp and more disposal for the manager to get players in. Unfortunatley this may be at the cost of Mj, Renton and Shuggie. |

On the training camp issue, notice that at Peterhead, Pele has put Craig Tully on the transfer list because he cant train in Peterhead with the rest of the team, thats the way to do it and we need to sort that out.

Heard a wee story this morning that a couple of people have been winding up the players behind Brians back and it was some of the players who called for his removal at a meeting with the board last week.

Noall and Minstrel, I can confirm that Brian was treated unfairly, to say the least, by certain board members. Brian asked Neef and myself to look at Buckie for him against Rothes and Lossiemouth, which we did, and I met up with him on the following Tuesdays to go over what we had seen.
During these meetings, Brian opened up to me, and to be honest, as a person who is not easily shocked, I was taken aback with what he had to put up with. He also came in to see me on Tuesday, and let me know what had happened, and told me of the bizarre events which took place during the trip to Berwick.I will say this, if Brian has to go, then there is certainly questions which should be asked of the Director of Football !!!!! What has been his position in this, and is he not accountable as well as the manager. I also know that Brian wanted to put a couple of the youth players out on loan to Highland League clubs, so that they could gain experience, and perhaps be ready to come into the first team squad for next season. However, this was stopped, and guess who had a hand in it. This manager was probably too nice a person, but, in trying to do his job, he was having hurdles thrown in his path, which restricted him in carrying out his duties in the way in which he wanted. Now, I know that the people involved in this will see this, and really, I don't care, as people would not have treated a dog the way that Brian has been treated in the last while. But, you know, what goes round comes round, and there will be a day of reconing for the three or four people involved in the way they treated a decent man. I know who they are, and they know who they are, and when they pass me on the street from now on, they will know that I have lost total respect for all of them. I also know that Brian has done his best to keep his dignity intact in the press releases, but, I hope that when he leaves the club, that he blows the can wide open, and let people know how it really was. Brian, you may have been a bit of a softie, but to me anyway, you came across as a very genuine guy. Good luck in the future, and a merry christmas to you and your family. |
