Firstly, someone has to be paid to do a job before you sack them.
Second, didn't know any of you lot were rushing forward when they were looking for volunteers to do the announcing. If you want to do the job yurself I'm sure the boy will step aside if you let the club know. I heard kids the night getting a mention over the PA and then responding by chanting a few songs. It's called a good family atmosphere and its what the club needs. Admittedly some of the announcing is a bit OTT for friendly games, but what gives you the right to rant off at someone volunteering their services for the club and bringing smiles to a few faces. Maybe thats the problem. Smilings not your scene. |

Sometimes he can be a bit OTT but I think he does a great job - like Gaz said no-one else is rushing to volunteer so leave the guy alone.

I like the new announcer, it reminds me of my days playing ice hockey, great atmosphere at hockey games. Borough Briggs was always a depressing place with too
many negative people shouting abuse at our players and management. It was good to hear the kids shouting.

Why on EARTH would you want to sack someone who has Passion for Elgin City SO what if he is OTT What Do you want a bland announcer who is dull &
boring & doesn't play songs when the team scores WHICH Announcer Does NOT Do that??? IF ANYTHING YOU LOT WHO WANT HIM "SACKED" Don't like
the fact that Someone else is doing a much better job than previous announcers & if you don't like it then LUMP IT!!!

How about the staff in the Pie Shop, or even the pie's themselves, or maybe the guys selling the 50/50!!! I agree that there should be a feel good factor created about the place, and by the sounds of things, this guy is trying to do that. If he seems bad to you, you want to hear the guy at our club when we score. He's got the real South American bug, with the roar of GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!! which goes on forever, and we're trying to get instructions out to players to keep things tight or to change things after the goal, and they can't hear a thing! And you're complaining about your lad! Give the guy a break, he's only trying to create a good atmosphere for the fans and players alike. Have you ever asked the players if they like the music after a goal is scored? I think you'll find the answer is that they do, and is that not the most important thing, in that they respond to it by wanting to score more, so that they can that good feeling that they are on theoir way to winning the game!!!! So come on, lighten up! Maybe you could ask him to play the "Death March" after the opposition score, and that will match some of your long faces!!!! |

yes we're having a go, passion or not he is an embarrassment and truly cringeworthy!
nobody complains about the pies, they are brilliant!! but i agree, we should have a go at spud selling 50/50s haha OTT is just the start of it, get the guy in the crowd with a loudspeaker or somethin, don't make him an official embarrasment to the club, or maybe half time entertainment where people can see him and know who he is. at least on a positive note, if we complain about this guy we cant be doing much complaining about our team! |

Club colours are Black & White. Red socks were worn by Fraserburgh I remember. We are the Black & Whites. Red socks, just say NO!!!

chico, young man, Fraserburgh and Clach both adopted red socks AFTER City wore them with resounding success.
White socks are fine - for ballet dancers. Bring back the red! |

It's not Elgin City without their red sockies. It could be the supporters trust's first mission,to have the red socks back for good. Let's have a show of hands!
