Each child participating on any community event gets sent a birthday card (with merchandise leaflet etc) with a ticket for free entry to the next home match after their birthday. Kids never go alone and if it is a birthday treat, parents will spend money in the pie shop and may be tempted to buy other merchandise. Above all it makes the kid feel special that a football club has remembered his/her birthday. 2. For set home games, anyone wearing an Elgin shirt (hat, tie etc change it each time if need be) gets reduced entry to the game. The entry fee will be spent at the pie shop or in the social club, so we will still get their money, but they think they are getting something for nothing. If you do this a few times in the season, it might encourage people to buy a top. 3. Put 50/50 tickets into the match programme, a chance to win money will encourage people to buy the programme where you can target them for coming events, merchandise, advertising etc. DO away with the fold up table inside the gate. more to follow

As well as 50/50 in match programme, two more programmes have spectator out on centre spot at half time to try and kick a football through a target on goal line. Win a car (Up you step Mr Milne, insurance covers the car anyway). The hole is JUST big enough for a ball to go through, but most people will struggle to hit the target let alone get it through the hole. Consolation prize of a ticket to next home match keeps them coming back. 5. An Open Day for local schools/families etc. 6. On away match days, host local school football at Borough Briggs. Primary school football especially, parents go to watch. 7. Vending machines in the main stand for parents when our kids are playing. We do like our cups of tea you know..! I think that introducing open days for schools or even better 20 free tickets per school is an absolute must, Elgin needs to attract the youth early or else the old firm will get them. Kids are much more interested in merch than their parents will be and open up another avenue for cash for the club Good posts Noall

The Community department has over 200 members and to send out a birthday card to each and everyone would cost to much at this stage. From time to time we do offer members free tickets to come watch games and every season offer School's and group's to apply for match tickets, which a few Schools have snapped up this season. With our Birthday packages we hold the football sessions on Borough Briggs and would love to hold and host more events on the pitch, but due to the wear and tear during the winter months makes it difficult to use, however we are looking to hold many events from football festivals to tournaments and open days during the Summer. Invite the committee of the Supporters Trust to a complimentary table for matchday hospitallity and build a good working relationship. The board can get to know them and try to create a friendship between the two parties. After all they do want the same thing in the long run. 9. On the same idea, spoil the members of the press, wine and dine them at home games. They would be more likely to print more positive reports/stories.
