I thought after the first 10 minutes we were going to be on the end of a doing but credit to the team, they got to grips with Spartans and played the best
football I've seen at BB in a long time.
Having said that if it wasn't for Malin pulling off that save in the 90th minute....phew.....talk about getting your heart going, I was worried my dad was going to keel over there!! |

How are things in the Carribean? Hopefully a bit warmer than it was at BB yesterday. City came back strongly after being under a lot of pressure in the 1st 15 mins. Joe Malin was an inspired loan signing as he seemed to give the defence a lot more confidence than iv'e seen all season. Performance became a bit shaky once the score went to 2-1,but, all in all quite a good performance and result because Spartans are a good side and could more than hold their own in the SFL. I think if we could get another couple of wins before the next round in January we could be in with a shout of being in the hat for the fifth round draw. Might see you if your home for Xmas & New Year |

Hi S,
Have you put a few pounds on in that photo???? I'm home next Monday and don't go back until 15th. January, so I'm sure we'll definately catch up. The Caribbean is good, and I've had a terrific first year here. It was great to get a result against Spartans, no matter how it was achieved, and getting into the next round against Airdre was the important thing. It will be a real test of Elgin's resolve, as I know Airdrie are a good side, and from the people I've spoken to since the draw, their league position seems a little bit false, but then, maybe the same could be said for Elgin. flyfisher - I heard that Malin was ineligible to face Spartans as he wasn't registered before the date of the original, postponed game. SFA rules state
that "When a match which is postponed, drawn, or abandoned, is played or replayed, only those players who were eligible by means of their registration at
the date fixed for originally playing the Round, may play."
