The players available are going to want a break before deciding where they are going to play next season so i really cant see this early start working out.
Maybe a rest would do them more good than getting back into serious training so soon after the season end. Getting players capable of doing a job in the 3rd
division is going to be Jack's biggest task in the next 2 weeks,if we dont want to end up in a panic, signing players for the sake of it and ending up
stuck at the bottom of the heap again for another season.

under 19`s play their last game tomorrow doon at stirling so the young lads will have less than 2 weeks before pre season starts ?
the HL is full o players that would improve elgin, i think we all know that how can nairn,buckie,locos,etc manage to pay mare wages than us nane o their backers can have mare money than uncle beel |

We should be able to pick up some of the Caley rejects now that they're back down with us in the Scottish Leagues. The Elgin Caley derby matches might not
be that far away now.

With them being Relegated, along with the reserve league being scrapped, I think there could be a massive clearout at Caley. Zander Sutherland doesn't seem
to be fancied much by Butcher, I wonder if we've got any chance of signing him.

John Campbell, as I said, is an example of a good player who can't single-handedly turn round a terrible team, but whose talent was clear to a Hibs, a
Premier League (or possibly First Division) club, not just a team at Third Division level. Perhaps he is also an example of a youngster who didn 't make
it, but there are plenty of examples of teams with three or more players able to play at a higher grade who haven't been able to lift their side.
Go with Hibs themselves - Scott Brown, Steven Whittaker, Kenny Miller, Garry O'Connor, Ian Murray have all through the years been good enough to win the SPL or represent Scotland or both. When one appeared, there were always at least two or three of those five regularly playing - and that's the same Hibs who haven't been able to finish anywhere near the top in living memory. Telegram Sam, the HFL is the place to look, yes, but only if finances dictate we can attract the likes of the many players in that league that would improve Elgin. Meanwhile, would love to see Vigurs and Sutherland back at City. |
