The draw for the North of Scotland cup was at 11 today. We were drawn at home to Fort William in the first round with the winner playing at home to Rothes in
the 2nd round.
The date is the same day as the Brechin game at BB, so the Fort William game will need to be re-scheduled.

I think it will be interesting to see how the squad shapes up for this game. Wonder who Jacks starting line up will be, especially upfront.
Do you think that Cameron will be given more of a chance or will it be a partnership of Gunn and Wright? Although im not sure what I think of Wright yet, I didnt see much of him last season as he was always injured at the games I went along to... |

It will all depend on our schedule around the rearranged fixture. Last season the game was played on the Thursday as we had a friendly on the Tuesday vs Lossie
and the challenge cup game on the Saturday. Because we had so many games, it was a youth team that was put out and Forres beat us 7-0.
If the game is brought forward to Thursday again this year, I can see us putting out a youth team as we have two games at the weekend vs Brechin/Aberdeen. If we don't have any friendlies at the start of that week, we could bring it forward to the Tuesday and it'll most likely be a mixture of north based players and youth players. |

gotta be too many fixtures with the chance of more injuries and with a small squad we cld do without that ,a good idea i think .

We won it with our youth players when David Robertson was here, why can't we do that anymore?

Hi Noall,
I have to correct that one! When we won it with Robbo, we had our strongest team out at Forres that day, and it was Caley Thistle who played their youth team. Remember, players on the +*!* the night before, John Allison breaks his leg in 3 minutes, and we won 1-0!!! And Willie Furphy called it a day on a matter of principle due to the unprofessionalism of the players the night before the game!!! |

Oops, I remember now, people knocked the win because it was Caleys 19s. And when we played our youngsters we got gubbed by Forres.

Heres what Ross Jack said about the withdrawal from the North of Scotland Cup...
"We pulled out of the Cup because of fixture congestion. We would have been unable to produce a team as it would have been a very weak, under-17s side and there was no way that was going to happen. We tried to fix up another date for the game but we couldn't come to an agreement with Fort William which is a bit unfortunate." |
