Knock comments Cecil Jack lost his apprentice!!!!! You obviously dont know ,much about what went on at The Club as Bob was certainly not " an
apprentice". I agree with citysaver Bob would still be there doing his beloved park had the Board behaved with loyalty and honour towards him. Enough
said.!!!!

Knock maybe you're being a bit disrespectful to Bob here with your flippant comments considering the hard work and dedication he put into the club over
many years. If the truth be known was Cecil Jack not one of the Board members who wanted Graham Mutch's wife back in the club? With that being said,at the
end of the day the way Bob was treated was abysmal but then nothing surprises anymore.

Sorry to hear of Bobs departure following the clubs decision to favour a directors wife convicted of assaulting a pensoner over a commited, able and very loyal
groundsman. NOt only did bob prepare and maintaine an immeculate pitch he also under took a mountain of repair and maintenance, cleaning and weeding etc.Bob
worked tirelessly for the good of the club and will be irreplaceable and mention should also go to his sidekick ed stewert who gave much of his time and
energies freely both will be sorely missed. However,i am sure the club know what they are doing (aye rite!!!!!).
At least bob did much of the preparation work on the pitch for the session ahead |

The big problem with the current Board is that they thought B ob would just disappear and the REAL City fans and supporters would just accept that he had left. What a joke they all knew and respected him and would realise that he would Never have just walked as they say! No the fans will ask questions but they will not swallow comments that he just chose to leave . Perhaps the decision has been changed to alllow C Mutch back but it will just be a matter of time before it happens` Yes this Board have a lot to answer forin how this matter was dealt with. Very professional!! Not. |

Highlander i hope you're wrong when you say C Mutch will be back in the club but deep down i know that you're right and she will come crawling back in
as if nothing had happened. If the Board were any good at all they would stand up for what is right and ban her for life from anywhere near the club but i
think we all know that wont happen.

It's a damned disgrace the way Bob has been treated in all of this but then what do you expect from a club who's PR must be one of the worst in
Scotland.

CITYSAVER & HIGHLANDER, In no way was I being disrespectfull or flipint towards Bob. It was a tounge in cheek comment made to reflect the amount of work
done by "both" at the club. I have spoken to both of them when they have come into our shop, and always said to Cecil when they come in "I see
you have your apprentice with you again" I can understand how it may have looked to some, but sometimes there are those who pick up the wrong meaning.
Bob has done sterling work at the club for many a year, and will be sorely missed. |

If the club - ie the Board - is not willing to do anything to mark Bob's contribution to the club (and are we absolutely sure about this?) - would it not
be appropriate for the Trust to take on this task?

What an excellent idea and would be the sort of thing The Supporters Trust could organiseor perhaps a joint venture with the Board should they be planning
some sort of retirement for Bob. Perhaps a member of the Board could post what their plans are!!!!

Disappointed Knock that you have no response re The Supporters Trust arranging some kind of acknowledgement to Bob as Im sure if you ask your members they
would be happy to support this or is it perhaps you are waiting for a lead from the Board. Surely not! Am I right in assuming that you are a separate body
from them. Are you not there for the good of Elgin City ?? That is what I un derstand A Supporters Trust is all about standing up for issues for the good of
the Club within the community. Perhaps if this is not your remit could ytou please advise me what your purpose is at Elgin City. Thank you in anticipation of
your reply to thjis ;post as I am sure many of your members would be in terested

As much as I admired Bob for what he did for the club, I don't think it is the role of the Supporters Trust to organise and fund retirement/leaving gifts
for staff at the club. Where would you draw the line? The manager, chairman etc?
The club have already replaced him. |

Re: Bob Cruickshank retirement.

You seem to be well informed Noall,so he's been replaced has he?! Well i suppose that makes it all ok does it? The fact remains Noall whether he's been
replaced or not it was no way to treat a loyal dedicated member of staff and take it from me all this could well come back to haunt them.

Re: Bob Cruickshank retirement.

Noall that is a very calleous attitude that Bob has been replaced so that means no recognition is due to an elderly man who worked with such committment for
many years . I am sure you are well aware of the reason for Bob leaving it was not something he had planned . Because the Board had done nothing to mark his
going it was suggested that the Supporters Trust step in and do the decent thing in this instance. Surely that would have been seen as the proper thing to
do and I am convinced that the Supporters Trust members would have agreed with that action. Dont you agree ? Perhaps you were not aware of the work he carried
out and the reason for his resignation!!

Agree with whats been said there should have been some sort of presentation or acknowledgement made to Bob for all the work he has put in over the years.

Re: Bob Cruickshank retirement.

I totally agree with what has been said about Bobs excellent contribution to The Club over the years, however...it seems the pressure Bob was put under to
leave BB did NOT come from the Club but a source much closer to home. Unfortunatly it seems it was all totally unnecessary. I attended the recent Tribute night
( an excellent night by the way) & Mrs Mutch was no where to be seen. I was reassured that the ban imposed on Mrs Mutch was never lifted & still
stands.

Re: Bob Cruickshank retirement.

City Die Hard Perhaps like me you should have asked Bob his reason for leaving the Club instead of listening to stories which may or may not be fact. He received an anonymous phone call informing him that the life ban on Carol Mutch, wife of a director, was being lifted. Bobs wife telephoned Graham Tatters to be informed that the Board had had a meeting and decided unanimously that Mrs Mutch would be allowed backto the Club un der the banner of Moray Catering but not to attend Social Events!!!!! This decision was then confirmed by another member of the Board.. Bearing in mind that Bobs wife, a pensioner, had been assaulted by this woman, who was charged and found guilty, of assault and breach of the peace. As Bob had been told by The Chairman, Graham Tatters, at that time that Carol Mutch would NEVER be allowed back to the Club to hear this news was a devastating blow to him. That is what he told me when I asked him why he had left. What decisions have been taken since that time I have not heard but the damage had been done and one wonders what would have happened had the Cruickshanks not received an anonymous phone call!!!! PS City Die Hard Moray Catering is the company owned by Carol and Graham Mutch. |

Re: Bob Cruickshank retirement.

I agree that the work that Bob, Pauline and Ed put in over the years does require some form of recognition but that should come from the club.
If the Trust feels compelled to mark their leaving by some sort of gesture, then the Trust must discuss this with the chairman of the club first. It could be seen as interfering in a staffing matter which the Trust at the moment should not get involved. I'm sure that Graham Tatters would like to (on behalf of the club) say goodbye and thank you properly, let's not get carried away and look for trouble where there might not be any. |

Re: Bob Cruickshank retirement.

As far as I can see there are 2 losers out of this situation. The Club has lost an excellent groundsman. Bob has left a job he loved & devoted a huge
amount of time & effort to. The only winner seems to be Carol Mutch. If by writing to the Club to ask for her ban to be lifted she wished to stir things up
she succeeded! Her ban is still in place but the Cruickshanks aren't there either. If I was Carol (& Im not) I would be having a quiet chuckle to
myself!
Rather than debating who should recognise Bobs contribution to Elgin City perhaps you should all consider what Bob wants? If I was treated so badly that I thought the only option was to leave I would not be attending any presentation. In fact I would be telling them to shove it where the sun dont shine! I dont know if Bob has been replaced but I do know that the grass wont have stopped growing & still needs to be cut! The next hurdle they will face will be the lining of the pitch for next Tuesday night. |
