As I understand it the money just is not there. The only people to blame for a lack of money is the people of Elgin themselves. The board can only do so much.
If all of the 500 + Elgin fans who were there on Saturday were to buy just ONE extra City Saver, at £6 per month, that is an extra £3000 (minus prize money)
per month. So come on stop blaming everyone else DO something to help the club! I've taken 2 extra by the way!

Robbie & Kenny hve done an excellent job with such limited resources. I hope we can keep them ... we are playing some attractive football and the results
and performances have been something to be proud of.

The usual cycle of doom and gloom is in full swing it appears but it is difficult when you don't know all the facts. Is the bottom line that the club is still losing money on a weekly basis? Has there been an AGM or any figures published in recent times? I find it difficult to judge the board and criticise them for not giving enough money to the manager without knowing the facts and figures but the board have to accept the flak if they don't communicate with the fans. Have we improved the commercial side at all since this time last year? What plans are there from the board to take the club forward? Have efforts been made to attract new investment? Unless some of these questions are answered the negative feeling towards the board will continue. As for the training facility and the saga with Moray Council that has been a huge disappointment, with the clout of Robertsons it's disappointing this appears to have fallen through and the Lesley Benzies money has not been utilised. What happens next on this?
As for ACR asking for more support from the fans, this has to go hand in hand with progress from the club off the field to improve the playing staff. |

I agree with you Chico Hoof on the lack of information. Those that know me also know that this is my pet hate in life. My comments were based on conversations
with board members (during the laying of concrete at BB) that there was plenty of ambition but no money. I apologise to those people of Elgin who have
invested, some of them quite heavily, in the form of shares etc but unfortunately the flow has to continue and I gave an example of how a small effort by many
can go a long way. You are also 100% correct that any extra that we, the fans, produce has to be beneficial to the playing squad. A winning team produces more
revenue but we have to put that team on the park first. Incidently I signed up for the newsletter - where is it? That would be an excellent means of getting
the message across.

You state quite correctly that people invested in shares etc, some quite heavily and we all know how they were treated a couple of years ago.

The board are a disgrace even if it's only for their lack of communication with the fans.
Surely the loyal supporters who pay their money throughout the season deserve better than this. Yes Williamson has done a reasonable job considering the lack of resources but unless funds are released it's unlikely he will hang around much longer. When is the AGM supposed to be,or are we still working a year behind? Nobody seems to know! As far as i am led to believe the financial situation at the club has not improved, but then how do we know when the board wont release the up to date figures. You cant run a business properly if your records are not up to date,i know this from experience. Come on Board get your act together and instil some much needed confidence into the hearts of the long suffering loyal supporters of the club. |

Communication is a big thing for me as well. I have asked and asked about the 'Newsletter' but nothing comes back. The Sportsman's Dinner is
another one, does anyone know when or if this is being held this year? I know more about the Lossie one as my mates are going to it! Surely if the club are
being provided with a website for virtually nothing, you'd want to promote the dinner, merchandise et al. I'm always hoping that they get Knoxy to
model some of the kit!!

Elgin city,
I think that the Sportsmans Dinner is on Friday, 9th. may. The reason I know is that a friend of mine asked if I could attend, but I'm only flying into Inverness that afternoon, and I don't think that the wife would approve of me heading straight to the Sportsmans Dinner, after being away for four months. I'm not feeling suicidal yet!!!! Mo |
