On Saturday myself and several other members of the supporters trust attended hospitality for the last game of the season. I am aware that some members may
have been more vocal than usual in their criticism of the team. The language used throughout the match was inappropriate for the occasion as there was a large
number of children in the ground. This behaviour was and indeed is inexcusable and as Chairman of the Supporters Trust I take full responsibility for the
actions of Trust members when attending a function whether at Borough Briggs or anywhere else. I would like to offer my sincere apology to anyone who was
upset or offended by such behaviour and you have my assurances that this will not happen again. The team and management at Elgin City FC have proved they
deserve our full backing and Saturday's behaviour has let them down.
Once again I apologise to all those who were upset on Saturday. Andy Crerar Chairman Elgin City Supporters Trust |

Very big of you Andy but you cant take the wrap for actions of grown adults mr...
Same as when I join the trust, you will not be responsible for my actions as im an adult and I am fully aware of my actions... Name and shame mr but dont apologise for their actions when its not your fault when members cant act appropiately |

Andy,
I'm in total agreement with Geordie Lass. It's not you who should be apologising, but those involved. Mo |

Even had there not been foul language from Elgin fans, it would have made little difference to the Stenny fans singing "Northern B*st**d! Northern
B*st**d!" and "You're sh** and you know you are!"
So it's a moot point really. I believe that anyone taking kids to footy matches has to expect them to be exposed to foul language from fans, players, coaches, other kids. It's part of public life, and though you may not like it, it's just the way things are. You can't protect kids from foul language- Ive heard worse in the playground. If you think your kids don't swear the minute you're out of earshot- you're only fooling yourself. I also think that you shouldn't be shouldering the blame for anyone else's behaviour. Being the Chairman of the trust shouldn't mean you get lumbered with things outside the direct sphere of the trust, that you are unable to control. |

AndyC is the Chairman and if it was a Trust 'event' he is responsible for the actions of those Trust members, or at the very least deal with the
consequences of their actions. As Chairman, did he ask them to curb their enthusiasm? The only point I would make is, we never knew of any offense until the
apology, is it wise to do your dirty laundry in public, no matter how commendable?
I believe that anyone taking kids to footy matches has to expect them to be exposed to foul language from fans, players, coaches, other kids.Swearing in part of conversation is acceptable (we even turn a blind eye in the school playground), but not when it is verbal abuse of players and officials. There is NO excuse for this sort of behaviour. |

Was The Knock one of the offenders?
He seems to have gone very quiet. A whisky or 2 too many and now a guilty conscience maybe! |

A couple of people had approached a member of the Trust about the language, therefore I felt that an apology was the best course of action. Those involved have
apologised to me and others, therefore I feel that I have dealt with the matter sufficiently. Although it is no excuse, it shows the passion of fans about
Elgin City FC. Lets carry the passion for them through to next season and help them gain promotion. Thanks for all your support on this board.
