Innes, indeed, Ally. A man ahead of his time.

No shortage of candidates for winger. Jimmy Gauld as you say and Johnny Logie.

Reuben Bennet was on National Service at Pinefield and played for only a short time including a memorable New Year's Day game against Lossie when for some reason he thought it was a good idea for him as keeper to take position sitting at the corner flag. Had to be assisted back to his proper station in the goalmouth. His great 'Pool days were with the training staff. Other REs were Fred Middleton, a very good player and Dave Grieve.

Cormie was the proverbial 110% man. Never let you down.

I remember Jimmy Delaney's debut against the Clach at Grant Street. 2 - 0 to the Lilies. He was better than Jimmy Johnstone, though, but neither was as good for the City as Castell.
