Well done today lads and well done to the supporters for the whole hearted support they gave to the team throughout the 90 minutes. I have not experienced an atmosphere like Ibrox Stadium since I attended Home Internationals matches at Hampden in the 60's. Absolutely fantastic place to watch football with a pitch you could play bowls on. But to the game - the first 15 minutes were a bit nervy but our lads were digging in and sticking in. and then........our moment of glory. The ball came out to Jamie Duff and he curled an absolute beauty past Alexander in the Rangers goal. 45,615 fans were stunned into silence while the City support went absolutely delirious. Never mind about your offside or the ball being out of play Dougie - read the P and J in the morning, it WAS a goal. Obviously that had to be the high point of the day because after that it was the David Templeton show. He was the main difference between the two teams and fully deserved his man of the match award. If I had to pick out a City player for our man of the match, it would have to be Craig Gunn. He led the Rangers defence a merry dance a number of times and he took a few hefty tackles along the way as did one or two other City players. I have not seen the match on TV but I believe that Shields should have been sent off for a high tackle on a City player. Instead of that he stays on the park and scores the first goal. Justice or what?? Many of the 50/50 decisions and breaks seemed to go Rangers way, but such is life. In finishing can I just repeat my thanks to the team for making an old guy very happy - the occasion will live long in my memory.
