The new Scotland kit and the Luton kit have all had major problems from Diadora according to folk on the Tartan Army MB. Shame that the club haven't had the foresight to post a statement to that effect on the 'offical' website to keep the fans informed. After all we are only the ones who will be forking over the ca$h!

I understand peoples concerns about the delay in the strips coming out, but lets steer clear of criticising the site for not carrying that info. Jason can only post what he's asked to post. Again this comes down to a lack of professionalism at the club which wouldnt take much to sort out. Anyone fancy becoming the spokesperson / marketing officer for the club!?!?

yes my post is not criticising Jason in any way, but the club themselves
after several Phone calls a week, all you get is the same response, try again in 2 weeks. |

My comments were not directed at Jason but whoever the hell is in charge of merchandise at the club.

Clubs are always cash strapped these days.
How can we get the money in...hmmm? Let's see, we HAVE people, willing to part with money, but an inability to take the money. Why is there still the very narrow view that football clubs should take the money through the gate and let the rest of the business end slide. Even more so in this day in age, other avenues of fund raising should be explored and surely the one staring in the face is sorting out the bloody merchandising!! |

I think that a club like Elgin has to consider the reliability of supply in selecting their kit supplier. This is such an important potential revenue stream that it just has to be right. I don't know if they could or should have predicted this when making that choice to be fair but as highlighted already we have a situation where people WANT to hand over cash, and they can't. It is not professional at all - though as I said I don't know if the club can be blamed.

I think we've been through all this in the Merchandise forum already, to no avail as yet...!

Quote: Sorry to wade in again... of course the club is, in some way to blame; someone is in charge (possibly) of getting a supply of strips, along with other items, to sell in the club shop. For whatever reason, these have not been forthcoming. Now, without knowing which individual is the responsible person, we have several successful businessmen on the board, it is THEIR JOB, whether paid or not (all part of being in that exalted post), to ensure that the suppliers do just that - supply! If not then find out why and let their customers i.e. us,know what the delay is. I'm damn sure if it were, let's say, roof trusses for a housing development there would be no messing about! Come on guys GET IT SORTED (sorry for shouting!) I shall be going into the club tomorrow, fourth time now, to ask about strips - I'll let you know how I got on... |

She couldnt asnwer one of my questions, just kept saying we got nothing, no we got nothing, try again in 2 weeks |
