Keegan for Newcastle, eh? What do you think of that? Will he get them into Europe? Will he last till the end of the season? Are Newcastle mad? He'll
certainly sort out the defence ...

TO be honest I hope so....
Its not so much about the winning when he was manager, the sense of togetherness was amazing... Its something you cant put down in writing, the whole of tyneside seams to come together (well the toon part), you could walk down the street and see 3 out of 5 people wearing NUFC shirts, something that aint been done in a while.. There was a 4 year waiting list for season tickets, when the toon were playing the bars were packed and whether won or lost there was a great atmosphere and thats something thats lacked from the day he left. For me and to people I know who are newcastle supporters its not about silverware its not about being the champions of europe, yes it would be great, but I honestly think the majority of your fans just like to see us with the pride back that has been lacking the lat few years. I dont know its hard to put it into writing |

Aww thanks guys
I know this may be strange too some but I really hope that he dont bring in Shearer though as his no2. There is something that is shifty about the guy too me, I think he has too much influence there always has had, and think that he has a lot of say there when he was a player and played a big role of Ruud getting the sack as he had the balls to drop him and Shearer spat his dummy out. I think the timing is not right and for some reason I dont think that it would work. I cant see St james being big enough for both of these(legends) and I think that personal issues would get in the way of tactical decisions with both vying for the attention of the toon... I am in no doubt that one day Shearer will be in charge at the toon, but I think that should be once Keegan has gone. |

It doesn't mean to say that Shearer would be a great manager either, there are plenty of great players who haven't cut it in management. It'll be
interesting to see the Keegan v Fergie rivalry renewed - you know after his "I'd love it..." rant live on Sky Sports many moons ago!

It's been a good premiership season anyway and this adds an extra twist. Brilliant!

David Ginola and Andy Cole - two reasons why Keegan will not succeed .
They're not at St. James this time. |

Kev's brand of bubbly enthusiasm seems kind of naive nowadays ... 12 years on ... is his time past? It's fine to say the fans'll love the
roller-coaster ride but can you see him seriously taking on the likes of Fergie, Wenger, Moyes, Benitez, Grant, O'Neill, Eriksson and giving them a run for
their money? And presumably that's what Ashley wants.

Its going to be hard but good managers are good managers....
You simply dont stop being a good manager, because you have not done it for a few years... if you know what I mean.... I guess that only time will tell if he is going to succeed or not.... |

Yeah ... but isn't the Premiership a different place now? I'm not sure it's something you can't lose ... I mean it's not like riding a
bike. Or maybe it's the difference between riding a bike down a quiet country road and being suddenly asked to ride in the Tour de France? Don't get me
wrong, I really hope he succeeds but it's so difficult now to break into the top 6. And it's so easy to slide down - look at Leeds and Notts Forest.
Who would ever have thought that massive, hugely successful clubs like that would be where they are today?
