League Tables? |

Are there league tables available online to follow the youth teams progress?? The U 15's seem to be having a good season and it would be good to see where
about in the league they are.

There are no leagues below U17. The football at the younger age groups is about development of young players without the pressure of league positions and
results.
The games are supposed to be three periods of 30min with squads of 15 players each getting 1hr of football each. The results mean nothing, most teams stick to the ethos that the SFA promote of player development but some play their strongest team and leave the weaker players on the bench and only give them 5/10min, so they can go home happy that they 'won' the game. The three periods allow you to rotate players in different positions to help them gain a better understanding of the game and allow players who would sit on the bench (or not get selected) to get a decent run out. Unless you actually go and watch the games you can get a false impression of how things are going by 'final scores'. Period one could be even, Two, dominated by one team and the third dominated by the other and in one of those periods a team might score a lot of goals against a weaker side giving a false overall impression of how your squad is doing (if you judge your success the result). You could have a squad of players who have very good technical skills but because you are teaching them how to play different positions as systems, you can lose goals through mistakes and that would look like your team are poor. The SFA do not allow clubs to publish scores at this level because of the pressure league football places on players and coaches. P.S. I have watched a few games of the U15s and they are a good squad and a few of them could go a long way in football. They have a lot of confidence in their abilities and are not afraid to try a little skill/trick now and then. If they continue working on their technique they will do well.

Passing Lesser Borough on Sunday saw the Under 11s play Deveronvale Under 12s in a 7 a side game on a really small pitch. Deveronvale were a huge side in
comparison to Elgin Under 11s. They played three 20 minute periods and the Elgin boys were playing some lovely football, especially in the second period with a
couple of very impressive players on show for the home team. Deveronvale seemed to have a shoot from anywhere policy. Elgin took off in my opinion there 2 best
players for the final period, a very good Striker and a very strong Defender, and were then totally overan.
