I used to think it would be better to register real names, but then some would not want to post for the risk of repercussions. Some of us are known and don't mind that. There are quite a few posters who are actually staff and players at the club and as such anonymity allows them to have an opinion and to raise issues that otherwise would not see the light of day.

It's such a difficult situation, thankfully I don't have that worry on my shoulders here, I'm just one of the plebs! We're all wanting information, but we all want information we can trust and is reliable. How we do that without comprimising the anonymity of posters...I don't know.

But there is 2 different people that use this You never know a persons background, you never know who is reading this site and so I really think its a personal choice for the user if they wish to remain anon. But what I will say, there is a difference between someone that is genuine, who comes on here and gives out info and actually backs it up with a follow up post and some fact where possible..... in then fine to remain anonymous for fear of repricushions from their job, ie are staff and if found out then they would lose their jobs, then yes remain as anon. The people that remain anon just to come and shít stir and wind people up and hide behind a user name and then sit back and watch as everyone else gets their knickers in a twist and there sitting laughing at you... are nothing but cowards and shít stririrs in my opinon

If fans were to be named, and staff remain anonymous, then everyone would know who posts here and works/ plays for ECFC. It wouldn't be long before a club witch-hunt started to plug the leak. I don't think there is a solution, except for the club communicating more with the fans. What posters with insider information need to remember is that if they are unable/ unwilling to reveal the nature of their concerns, then they will probably go ignored. After all, they could be anyone with a vested interest in club/fan turmoil. For all we know it could be TESCO's manager looking to buy BB for a white goods store or a Lossie fan with time to kill, or Kenny Black hell bent on vengeance!! [/joke] As to my ID, I've now had contact with ghost26 across the board mail, and I'm sure that he can verify that I have nothing whatsoever to do with the club, other than watching the games, eating the pies and shouting abuse at the lino! If it came down to a vote, I'd be sticking with the anonymity camp- there really isn't a choice, as I see it. I may be wrong of course!

Exactly what i've been trying to do for several months now, despite posting factual information i'm deemed a s**t stirrer. Cest la vie, it shall not deter me . I do completely agree and understand the reasons for anonymity from certain posters, I wish it wasn't needed but as you say Cest la vie.
