Prices Go Up. |
Lead | |

So I see from the story on the front page that prices are going up. Im not speaking about myself, but when there is loads of HFL games near by for £6, a few
people might think its a better way to spend money.

I dont think raising the prices is a good idea as ive heard plenty complaining about the old prices.
To be honest there has'nt been value for money entertainment wise for some considerable time at BB. With another poor start to the season i can see the crowd going down to 300. It could be another long season with empty pockets. |

I think maybe what the club are trying to do is make the incentive to buy season tickets - an average of £8 for a stand seat and £7 for the enclosure is pretty
fair in my book. At least the loyal fans get a deal. The good thing about a season book, is that the club gets a good bit of income early on in the season.
I guess the hard thing is attracting more of the 'floating' fans, and encouraging them to buy season tickets. Again, this just come back to how well we market ourselves as a club. The board MUST make this a priority. The Northern Scot, P&J, Moray Firth, schools etc. its all been done to death before..... The club must build on the possitive end to last season and look forward to 08/09, and not get sidetracked by talk of 'typically Elgin take 10 games to start their season'. Just scrolling through the attendances last season - it looked to be an average of 500. (the last 3 home games were 624, 619 and 582) It is a balancing act - you want to bring more people in through the turnstyle and not rip them off, but at the same time give you'll loyal customers a bonus. You can't please all of the people all of the time. *editted cos i is a retard

The club is given a minimum ticket price by the SFL, I don't know what that is, but where Elgin were always charging the amount set, other clubs added a
quid or two to theirs.

1893 You can go watch HFL if you like, but remember, it will cost you another £5 - £6 on top of your entrance fee for petrol by the time you get home depending
where you go of course. You could always use the bus, but the return fare will probably cost you between £5 - £9 depending on where you are going, unless you
are an O.A.P. OF COURSE.
Bannffer, good reply. It looks as if the doom and gloomers are about to surface again. I think the team are better prepared this season, and I look forward to some exciting games to come. |

Have a look at what I wrote again please The Knock....
"So I see from the story on the front page that prices are going up. Im not speaking about myself, but when there is loads of HFL games near by for £6, a few people might think its a better way to spend money." We all know us true fans don't mind paying an extra little bit, but it's the ones who are more neutral that might be scared off by the price. |

An average of 500 i think was on the high side banffer.
But did they all pay to get in? Or was there the usual lot getting in side doors and sneaking in through the social club? And then there's the complimentary ticket crew or are they not counted? |

Citymad wrote: I can't believe I'm replying to this, but what the hell..... Re-read my post...I said it was just a quick look, I never totaled the sum of all Elgin City FC's home Irn Bru Scottish Third Division fixtures and divided by the eighteen, ok. Ummm.....'did they all pay to get in'..... if there is a few who never clicked the turnstyle, the registered attendance would be higher. How many people do not pay to get in? 1? 2? 5? 50? 100? it's pedantic posts like that, that make me wonder why i bother with this board, lets not lose sight of what 1893 is trying to say: other than playing winning/silky football, how do you go about making the floating/neutral fans more loyal? |

Pedantic was a good word banffer. I had to look up my dictionary to see what it meant! Dont lose heart with the board, you're doing a great job.

Tricky isn't it? Hiding it away on the front page of the website under the heading 'Season Tickets on sale now'. Who would think to look there?

I heard the reason for Prices going up are because rising fuel costs mean travelling expenses for the team this season are going to be very expensive.

I heard the reason for Prices going up are because rising fuel costs mean travelling expenses for the team this season are going to be very expensive. So when petrol prices fall half way through the season, ticket prices will come down? Sounds good to me! |
