Do you think he would leave a managers position to be a youth coach? there would have to be some incentive.

Hi Noall,
I think that a move to the first Academy in the UK, which is still held in the highest esteem throughout all of the Football League, and is recognised as one of the best Academy's for producing future talent, along with it being a really well paid, full time post, would be incentive enough! |

Cheers Mo, circumstances were just right that we are lucky enough to have a top coach at the club. If the funds for players is poor he might be tempted where
job security is probably better as well.

Hi Noall,
Hopefully there will be no truth in the rumour, and for Ross, any decision for him would be whether he wants to be a Manager or a Coach. I think that by coming to Elgin in the first place, it demonstrates that he wants to be his own man, and I would like to think that he has the opportunity to show just what he can do at Borough Briggs. The flip side of the coin, is that the Crewe Academy job is considered a big job in football development in England, and a succesful spell there could also lead on to bigger and better things. |

He won't be saying much about himself as a person if he was to jump ship straight away though, would it?

WeAreElgin,
That's an easy thing to say, but you have to put yourself in the mans shoes. He took onthe Elgin job, and at the time, it was in good faith, whith no other options on the table. But, if another opportunity comes along, and with it being Ross's proffesion, he will want what's best for him and his family, and should it come down to a decision taking that into account, you have to respect any decision he makes in that regard, regardless of what others think. Let's face it, three months down the line, and the club weren't happy with the way he was going about his business, would they care if they had to fire him? Anyway, it's all hypothetical, as right now, it's a rumour again, and he's manager at Elgin City, so lets just let the man get on with the job. If he does well, and this job proves to be a stepping stone for hoim as a manager, then the best of luck to him, as that's what it's all about. |
