It beats me why the club should want to be associated with individuals of this type of character as it does nothing to enhance the image of the club. If it had
been my wife that had acted in that violent manner towards another club member i, with respect to the name of Elgin City Football Club, would have removed
myself from the Board immediately.

HIGHLANDER. You sound by your comments to be a very good, if not close friend of the Cruickshanks, if so you are to be applauded. Believe me when I say, I
have complete sympathy of their situation, but as already stated it is an internal matter within the club which has become very public. The Trust, as you have
stated is looking to help bring the club forward, and is a democratic organisation, and by that meaning if any member wished the Trust to get involved with any
"leaving gift" for Bob, then that person would have to get in touch with the chairman and put forward their proposal. The matter would then be
discussed and a decision made.

Hell Guys,
What's going on?????? This situation is getting way out of hand, and personal between posters on the board. The fact of the matter is that Bob has left, and he's entitled to do that, but I do agree that his service should be marked, if not by the club, then by the Supporters and the Supporters Trust. Nobody has to wait to take the lead, as it just needs someone with the balls to get it done! My own experience when I had my first break from the game, I was in my second spell at Lossie, and decided that with my affinity for both Elgin and Lossie, that I would bow out gracefully at Borough Briggs, following a local derby. I was called down to the Supporters shop after the game, and presented with a very nice silver salver from the Elgin City Supporters Club, which I still cherrish to this day. Now, surely it wouldn't be so hard for someone to take the lead and do the same for Bob. Knock, internal matter it may be, but who's asking the club to get involved? All anyone is asking is for someone to organise a "thank you" gift for a bloody good servant to the club. Forget the politics involved! This is about a person!!!!!! Andy C, Knock, Noall, and the rest of you guys on the Trust Committee, go and organise it please, and get Bob a nice momento, and I'll pay for it when I get home in a few weeks time! Organise a meeting when I'm home, and we can present it to him!!!! Jesus F Christ, what does it take!!!!! |

Pirate Mo Sense at last ofcourse Bob is an honourable man who resigned on a principal which he held and he made the choice to leave the Club on these
principals. That does not mean he should not be respected for his committment reliability and bleady hard work over the years with some sort of momento to
cherish.

If anyone wishes the Trust to bring up any question relating to this matter, please feel free to contact anyone on the Trust committee. I would be happy to
contact Trust members as to whether they would like to contribute to a gift for Bob, but our members are difficult to get through to. I agree that it is
terrible that the Club has failed to acknowledge Bob's great contribution over the years. One final point, has anyone spoken to Bob on this matter?

All,
Hopefully, this whole sorry episode will move towards a conclusion! It really had started to go into personal issues regarding Bob's wife, and a Directors wife, which is now in the past, and it was missing the main point, which is Bob himself! So, let's not get distracted! I don't know if Bob reads the website, but if he does, then he can read this: Bob, I'd like to personally thank you for all the things you did for me in my time at Borough Briggs. I'd mention to you that I'd like something done in the treatment room, and before I knew it, I'd open the door on the next training night, and what I mentioned was done, and it wasn't the faries that did it, it was you! When we talked about the grass on the playing surface, it was as if we were talking about a child, and you gave it the best care it could have, and you made sure it was at its best for us to play on. Whatever happened, has happened, and there's not much I can do about that. But what I can do, is thank you openly on this message board for the things you did for all of us in my time at the club, and I'm sure that I can honestly say, that I'd be speaking from all of us who were there!!! Thanks again, Mo |

Hope I was not the only supporter to be dismayed at the state of the ground last night. To be greeted with weeds everywhere even before entering the ground
they were visible. Perhaps now the Board will recognise the work Bob and Ed did in the prepartion of the ground and the park. As Noall stated Bob had been
replaced. Well there was not much sign of that last night. Lets hope the Board get their act together and it is all looking good for the start of the season.
On a cheerier note I think we have the makings of a good team this season. Good luck Boys!!!

Yes i noticed too that the park and surroundings were not nearly up to the usual standards,it just shows how much bob put into the ground maintenance and
proves how much all his hard work will be missed. Hopefully the board will get their house in order before the new season starts as an untidy ground only
projects a poor image of the club.

Was at the game on Tuesday and the weeds on the banks was a disgrace. It just goes to show how big a loss Edd and Bob are and the amount of unnoticed work that they put in over the years to making the ground look presentable. |

It was quite saddening to see Bob at the end of the game last night, he just seemed to be taking it all in his stride! If the club is after volunteers,
consider me signed up.

loyal1 wrote: Loyal1 & highlander you both seem very close to Bob so I apologise if what Im about to say offends you. I heard that the Caley groundsman (who is qualified to comment) was very impressed with the condition of the pitch. Now I dont whether he has ever seen the Doocot park to make a comparison but he was taken aback when it was revealed that this was down to a Director & the kit men. Rather than critising the effort these guys are putting in people should commend there efforts. They have tried their best to help the club when it was left in the lurch. |

Come Come City Diehard ur having a joke here !! Left in the lurch Aye right ! you obviously do not know Bob!!!!! he was left with no choice Your cheap

Come on City Diehard you of all people should know the true facts of the situation, that Bob would never leave anyone in the lurch but as you well know in this
instance he was left with no choice.

huh come on seriously city diehard are you having a laugh....You can hardly say bob left the club in the lurch he had no choice but to leave after the way the
club behaved....And its about time a director got his hands dirty and appreciate the hard work that bob put in down there ....

Sorry, not a cheap shot but perhaps a more balanced view than the rest of you. Nobody can dispute the contribution Bob made to the Club over the years but
there is always a choice & he made his. With regards to the comment about Bob leaving the club in the lurch what else can you call it when he left without
any notice? I actually do know Bob very well & hold him in very high regard but the truth is The Club is bigger than any individual.
Elgin City supporters should be getting behind the manager & the team. I dont care if the weeds grow 10 feet high if we are picking up 3 points a game!! |

Borough Briggs seems to have more than its fair share of weeds at the moment!
