Well, it's a tough one, especially away at the "San Siro", but at least we know what we're up against!
Predictions welcome! I'd be happy to get a draw, and take them back to Borough Briggs! |

As I live in Lanarkshire, I'm delighted with the draw!
Will be a tough one, but there were a lot tougher draws in there and with our good record at Cliftonhill, it gives us a good chance of progression. |

Great draw for us.
If we play like we did in the last 35 mins of our league match against Albion earlier this month - after the substitutions were made and we had a midfield of - McAuley, Nicolson, Calder and Smith - providing service to Gunn and Frizzell with full backs who are prepared to overlap -we will win this tie with something to spare. However, if manager Ross Jack continues with the guys who have given us todate only one win out of ten starts in the league then we have little or no chance. Gamrieloon |

So you're now openly very critical of Ross Jack, Gamrieloon.

Well Ally T Gamrieloon has a fair point looking at our results and where we sit in the league and perhaps his observations are worth consideration.

Highlander, this is the point. We are on about the same points as this time last year and one place better off - thank God for Montrose - but people are very
reluctant to come out and say it's Ross Jacks fault; his team selection is wrong, he's not getting the most out of the players at his disposal. I
don't get to see enough games - 6 this season including the last 3 (which have not been great) - so I don't have a picture of the whole squad and I
really do like to hear the views of those who see more games.

Gamrieloon wrote: Ally There is no intention on my part to be openly critical of Ross Jack and I am surprised that you have read that into my post. Elsewhere in this message board it must be clear to you that I have been very supportive of Ross Jack and his playing staff. Football is about opinions and I air mine in the knowledge that Ross Jack is in a superior position to me in that he sees every match as well as the bounce games and training sessions and most importantly knows much more about football than I do. He is in a far better position than me to decide team selection and formation and tactics. He seems to have the respect of the players and talks well to the press. He is loyal to the players it seems. He has a huge reputation as a coach and youngsters will benefit from him being manager at the club. He would be my choice as manager and I am not critical of him at all. I can only write about what I see and have no inside track. This is a message board after all ! TheWileyCoyote wrote a week or so back that our poorest performer each week has come from Crooks, or Edwards or Frizzell. I felt at the time that was a little unkind but it is probably true. I would add to this list Cameron - a young player with huge potential who is simply not ready yet for the first team. The body language of teammates when he comes on as a sub tells the story - shoulders drop, eyes are raised and spirits drop - they dont think he will add anything to the party. He makes no impact as a sub. He is not a midfielder or a wide player and his performance against Livi in that wide position was very poor. He has gained valuable experience from his involvement to date this season but it is now time for him to go out on loan to a Highland League or junior club for a bit of toughening up. He will come back stronger after regular starts and be ready to claim a deserved first team place rather than being in for the experience. The team can no longer afford to carry him and it is not fair on the lad himself who seems timid. My contention is that from what I have seen we have better players sitting on the bench or the stand than Crooks, Edwards, Frizell and Cameron. I simply cannot understand why Calder has not had a start this season. He is a midfield general and a leader - just what we have needed in many of our matches. Inglis is a creative player who has spent most of the season in the stand although he was sub unused against ES and got a start against Nairn. He now needs matches to get used to playing at this level and for others to realise how good a player he is. Smith who can play upfront or in the wide areas is from what I have seen probably together with McAuley and Gunn the best players at the club going forward. These guys must all come in now and have a decent run in the side. Surely one win in ten says as much. Gamrieloon |

Dear Gamrieloon
Many thanks for your prompt and detailed response, especially for making clear that, although you think his team selection is crap, you are not, never have and never will criticise Mr Jack. AllyT |

I'm not sure what to make of the draw, we've already beaten them in cup competitions this year but we played poorly against them a few weeks back.
I take it there won't be a bus put on for this? |

What rubbish. You state that Brian Cameron has huge potential then destroy him. Easy to pick on a young guy. You then mention all these midfielders, none of whom would have got a game last season. Of course its Ross Jack's fault. He picks the team doesn't he and seems to have the full backing of the Chairman judging by the warm embrace at full time on saturday. |

Its the Manager who selects the team so its his responsibility. Gamrieloon you seem to be critical of Ross Jacks selections then say you support him!! I must
be missing something here.
