I'm just in and have heard no radio and seen no TV today, but a friend texted me the score.
If anyone who was there can give a review once home, I'd be most grateful.

Brilliant result for us, now that we've scored 7 goals in our last 2 games, there's no reason why we shouldn't be full of confidence against
Livingston next week.

Whoops, posted my first message on my brothers account, who was signed in. Forgot to copy it when I edited it, so will just copy what I wrote on Pie and
Bovril...
We were brilliant, great performance from every player in an Elgin shirt today. Should've been more too, I see the stats say we had 22 attempts on goal! In the first half I felt we were unlucky to only be 1-0 up after quite a few missed chances, a stonewall penalty wasn't given and we had a goal was disallowed for offside, although Gunn looked onside to me. Second half I expected Queens to come out and punish us for not finishing them off, but they just couldn't seem to get into the game at all and had no answer for getting past David Craig and Kaz at the back, who were immense. Gunn was a real handful for their defence as they failed to deal with him for the whole game. It was admittedly at times route one, but it was bloody effective and we did still play some very nice football at times. We have the players capable of producing that kind of performance, we've been saying it all season, we are finally starting to see it. I just hope we can keep it up. Forgot to mention Tatters in that, played left wing rather than full back and had a great game, he was beating players down the wing for fun. |

3rd Min - Missed a sitter.
5th Min Gunn Scored. 30th Min Goal chalked off. 35th min Frizzel missed sitter after fantastic Control. 47th Min Tatters Scored 55th Min - Goal dissaollowed for offside 74th min Frizzell Scored. Headed clearance of the line. 87th min Gibson great double save. This is the first time I've seen an Elgin TEAM win in the league or cup since being admitted in to the SFL. The team were looking to play football. It's obvious that Ross Jack has found 11 players that some can defend, some can pass, somce can hold the ball, some can take on players and some can score. Now they have been told what to do and are doing it well. Elgin kept the ball. They played it to feet. They played it back to keep the ball instead of wasting the ball. Use of it was the key today. The Back 4 I don't think got beating more than 5 times today. Kaz was un-real today. Won everything. Probably deserved a MOTM. Gunn's pace was blistering. Came off the wing at times and the 2 defs couldn't handle him. They went for the same ball and missed it. Gunn ran in and tucked it away. The second goal he set up by knocking the ball round the player beat another to the ball and cut back for the second goal. Gibson had not much to do. He won everthing in the air. Looked conviinving for crosses. Made a great save tipping a drive over the bar. THen a double block in the last minutes stopping a header and then diving at the feet to get the ball. Queens were a bit lightweight. they seemed to fall over every time they tried to go round an Elgin player. In fact I'd have them with velcro laces incase they haven't mastered tying bootlaces. We were lucky to finish with 11 men. I saw a couple of hand bags that i've seen sending offs for. our number 6 tripped up one player after being tripped by grabbing his ankle. There was also a bit of "afters"where there was a little bit of physical contact. Glasd they weren't spotted by the ref. I also think that there was a few QP players not to be booked as they were kicking lumps at the end. 4 funny moments. a QP fan had a rant at the start fo the 2nd half, so we gave him a standing ovataion. Then the QP's player attempt at an overhead kick. 8 yards out - completely missing the ball by a time zone. In a different galaxy. The Mascot at half time. Appropriate? Maybe, but I thought it was an ass! lol And finally the youngest fan shouting "come ma daddy". Cuteness personofied. |

To Neefie Noodle,
Thanks So Much, I haven't smiled like this over an ECFC Result for a long time. Really appreciate the Report and will make every effort to be at Livvi next week. |

Agree with most of what's been posted already. This was a superb performance by the whole team and subs. We passed QP off the park. We ran them ragged all
over the pitch and had our finishing been on a par with our outfield play we for could have had five or six. But hey let's just be grateful for 3 goals and
maybe we're saving a couple for next week against Livi. I don't normally pick out individuals but today I'm going to pick out 4. The first one is
Craig Gunn - not for the goal he scored, but for his workrate. He has come in for some stick here recently for not putting himself about, but he must have
covered almost every blade of grass today and did'nt give any of their deenders any peace all afternoon. Secondly young Tatters who again was up and down
the left side from defence to attack and put in a great shift. Thirdly Kyle McAulay who i've questioned a few times this year, really showed what he is
made of today showing lots of skill and working really hard. Finally Paul Kaczan who probably had his best game of the season and was more like his old self.
One other thing about Kaz - at the end of the gsme he came across to thank the supporters and spent the next few minutes signing autographs - a gesture which
was much appreciated by the support. I would just like to add my thanks to the whole team and Ross Jack for making a long day well worthwhile and extremely
rewarding..
